The last 2 months have been such a memorable time in our lives. We are trying so hard to take in all that Owen does and really enjoy him being a baby. It is not always easy when you are sleep deprived, hot, tired, hungry, and hormonal to put a smile on your face. BUT...when you look at the little creation you and your husband made, it makes it all worth it! We are so proud of little Owen and love nothing more than spending our days and nights with him. He truly is a precious baby and we are very thankful he makes our job a little bit easier. Now, our next step is for Owen to move into his bedroom. Stay tuned...!

As far as Owen getting his shots, he was a champ! He cried for less than 10 seconds and pretty much slept for the next 2 days. He really wasn't grumpy and didn't seem to run a fever, but it was pretty hard to tell since our house was on average about 79 degrees. Following Owen's shots was an 8 day stint of no POOPING! He finally delivered after extra juice and water. My poor little man! I was once again was one proud mommy!

Happy Fourth of July!

We decided to hit the road this year for the fourth and head up north. Our good friends, the Bisho's, live near Walnut Creek and are always a blast to spend the holidays with. It wouldn't be the same not spending a patriotic holiday without them. This trip was also Owen's first trip out of town. We hit the road on Saturday and set out for the 4 1/2 hour drive. We planned on stopping in Gilroy for lunch and to feed Owen, but luckily, the little angel slept the whole drive. We were looking forward to some nice warm weather, but were surprised by how hot it actually was. On average it was about 95 degrees and Owen spent most of the weekend in a onesie and diaper. He was the best traveler and rarely made a peep while we were there.

On Saturday, Clare and I went and enjoyed a very refreshing adult beverage and a pedicure. Clare prepared a great pasta dish for dinner...can't wait to replicate the recipe! On Sunday, the boy's went golfing, which Matt says was miserably hot and Clare, Elle, Owen, and I headed to Walnut Creek for lunch and shopping. I will definitely be returning for some shopping here! On Monday, the boy's were back at it again. They headed to Oakland to catch the Oakland A's game. They sat right behind home plate, but there was a small price to pay for the great seats...sunburned knees! Clare and I took turns preparing food and drinks for their fourth of July barbeque. We also took Elle and Owen to the pool and I was able to park Owen in the shade and get a little sun myself. For dinner Clare went above and beyond and we had juicy Lucy's (yum), potato salad, the best appetizers, and smore's bars for dessert! We enjoyed a wonderful firework show, which of course, Owen slept right through. We were sad to leave the Bisho's, but we had a great time and Owen was a good little house guest.

Thank you Nick, Clare and Elle for a wonderful weekend!
